Diagnosed with a cancerous polyp. Saw the consultant a couple of days ago and he told me about the operation I would be having in a few weeks. He did say that the scans showed that the cancer hasn't spread to any other organs and that it had been caught relatively early and that it was just one lesion, about 3cm. Some relief there then! The polyp and part of the colon will be removed and then healthy colon reattached to my bowel. Then he mentioned that some patients need a temporary stoma bag to help with the healing process. After that, it all depends on histology reports as to whether or not the stoma will be permanent. Also, If there's any cancer in any lymph nodes I'll need some sessions of chemotherapy afterwards to "mop it up" I really don't know how my legs are holding me up at the moment, I'm just so shocked and terrified by it all.
