I had the cold cap treatment while having docetaxel chemotherapy end of last year and beginning of this year, Final chemo session was in late January. I didn't lose hair immediately; my hair loss has been gradual and I'm still losing hair today, while at the same time new hair is growing.
I now have a "mullet" of short hair amongst the thinned out longer hair. Having lost all my hair in 2024 following an earlier bout of chemo, I'd not choose the cold cap again. It was excruciatingly uncomfortable while wearing it and, for me, the result wasn't worth it.
When I lost all my hair, it grew back quite quickly.
