Diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, I’m now on my fourth of six chemo sessions and still battling the toughest side effects—mouth and throat ulcers, diarrhea, constant fatigue, wild mood swings, and no appetite. Any tips or info on easing these symptoms would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been on cisplatin and 5FU since March 2026
Hello Fremantle,
I'm very sorry to hear you're suffering these problems as you progress through chemotherapy. I had cisplatin with a different second chemo drug several yers ago and experienced similar problems.
I have two suggestions for you to get more help and advice. First, if you haven't already done so, conact your chemo unit and ask for help.
Secnd, I suggest you join our Head and Neck Cancer Forum and repost your questions there. Hopefully others will have been through / are going through the same treatment and are able to give you advice and help based on their own experiences.
I wish you all the best, Derek.
