My husband has had 4 rounds of chemo and won’t be having any more. His last round was 4 weeks ago and he has still not recovered despite being admitted for a blood transfusion. He has not picked up at all and has been in bed all day and has barely eaten. Is this normal. I would ring the hospital but he doesn’t want to go again and I think they’ve done everything they can. Have others had similar experiences?
Hello Fortune
I am Brian, one of the Community Champions here on the Community. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have managed to dodge Chemotherapy so far!! However by me replying your post will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope seen and answered by other members of the group.
Chemotherapy affects everyone in different ways, however being lethargic and not eating for 4 weeks isn't good. I would urge you to contact his hospital team - let them know how he is and ask for further help and advice.
Best wishes - Brian.
