Afternoon everyone, I had my cycle 4 of 6 on Wednesday and Thursday of the week just gone,I am having alot more nausea than I had in my previous cycles is this normal,?,I had another PET scan a few days ago and im pleased to say that the chemo is doing its work, still have abit of a way to go but im feeling positive,my journey has been quite a ride but im doing it.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

Good to hear that your PET scan was encouraging.

Yes the challenges you are having are rather normal, as treatments go in our bodies change and the anti-nausea meds that may have worked at the start may not be doing the same job so do talk this through with your team as there are a number of different meds that can be used…..

During my main chemo late 2013 to April 2014 (6 cycles of R-EPOCH with me in hospital for 5 nights/6 days on my 2 IV pumps 24/7 for over 120hrs at a time) I changed my anti-nausea meds a number of times.

I don’t have Follicular Lymphoma but for some context about me. I was officially diagnosed way back in 1999 at 44…… although I now realise I had most likely been living with with my rare (8 in a million) incurable but treatable type of Skin (Cutaneous) T-Cell Lymphoma (a type of slow growing Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) ……. eventually reached Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare (4 in a million) type of aggressive Peripheral T-cell lymphoma not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS) (a type of fast growing High-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) was then presenting so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I most definitely appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

Can I suggest that you look to join and post in our dedicated Follicular Lymphoma support group where you will connect with others going through treatment.
