Hi all,
I’ve just had my 3rd chemo session for breast cancer and it’s going as well as it can but I can smell this horrible smell around me all the time I presume from the drugs and it is making me feel so nauseous.
Has anyone ever experienced this and come up with a solution for it? I’m fed up of my own smell making me feel sick .
Hi hamill03 and I see it’s your first post so a warm welcome to the Macmillan Community but so sorry to hear about your challenges.
This is not something that I experienced…… but different types of chemo brings different side effects so talking with people who are on the exact same treatment can help a lot…… so can I recommend you look to join and post in our dedicated……
……. support group.
This group is a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from people on the same journey.
Hi - I did have some of this during treatment. My pillow would smell, my sweat would smell, my wee... This was stronger the couple of days after treatment and then faded a bit until next cycle. It also made me feel a bit nauseous.
I tried to drink lemon juice and coffee (decaff) to try and get the flavour out of my mouth as there is some sort of connection between taste and smell... I would also try to shower after every hospital visit.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
