Hi everyone, I'm new here, and looking for ANY advice I can get.

I have a T4 tumour in my bowel which is inoperable due to liver complications, I've been offered Capox to try n shrink the tumour, it will be be a shorter cycle than normal 9 days on and 5 days off (just to see how my liver copes) but one of my main concerns is that I'm home alone most of the time, will I be able to manage the side effects by myself? I'm trying to prepare my room so I have everything I think I'm gonna need, has anyone else gone through chemo alone and does anyone have any tips x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I've had chemotherapy, but not for the same type of cancer as you.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this in the bowel cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with others who have had the same type of cancer as you.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
