Came of the capecitabine yesterday, still feeling whacked out, drove out today, i feel probably a bit to soon, got back and tried to get some rest. Managed to crash out on the sofa earlier for a few hours, So needed! Wonder how long after the last cycle it takes to get back to normal as it were..
Hi Double G if we line up 100 people with the same cancer and on the same drugs you will get 100 different stories.
You may find it helpful to post this question in the Bowel (colon and rectum) cancer support group as you will be talking with people who have or are navigating the exact same journey on the same drugs.
I have had over 800hrs of chemo between late 2013 to late 2015 for my 2 rare types of Lymohoma.
The longer I went into treatment the more the fatigue developed but my great CNS said that the one tool I had to help overcome some of the fatigue was to keep some regular activity going.. so U walked little and often.
I was advised not to drive during my chemo as it was having a significant effect on my reaction time and indeed my vision.
We have these signs everywhere in our hospital and the advice is spot in….
I ended up in CCU after a heart problem so was in bed for about 3 weeks….. I was 60 at the time but I left the unit in a wheelchair and basically had the body of a 90 year old so had to have physiotherapy to get me back walking…..
