Hi, I'm a 33yr old (34 in march) triple negative breast cancer, grade 3, stage 2A for now but a third small lumps has been found near my chest wall which I'm worried about. I have no children and always wanted them and had arranged for the egg retrieval, but with the new lump being found yesterday I'm really scared. I'm due to have 4 cycles of EC chemo fortnightly and then 3 cycles of a couple other chemicals (can't remember name on the top of my head) and then surgery.
With potential of abandoning egg retrieval (which breaks my heart) I'm really looking to see what people's experiences (particularly in their 30s) have been with chemo and their periods. And if you did lose them, have they came back?
Hello,
I’m 36 and just finished chemo in November.
I didn’t have any periods and I know others didn't have theirs either. Again, in their 30’s.
I didn’t opt for eggs to be stored or the injection. I already have a child and before the diagnosis had decided I didn’t want any more children.
I know one of them had some injection - can’t remember what it’s called - to try and preserve something (again I can’t remember what) so might be worth asking about this?
My periods have not resumed yet. They did pre warn that you can be pushed in to early menopause - again, I wasn’t fussed. Just want rid of the beast..
Good luck xx
