After second seance I lost my sensation for food. everything I put in mouth seems like wooden sticks.
So I stay without eating for 10 days.
My questions are
1. is this common
2. what you propose
3 and most important Is there other chemotherapy variant that may be more soft
thanks
Hi Rioriopan and welcome to the community.
I am Sarah, one of the community champions(Macmillan volunteer in the community) and I noticed that your post hadn’t had any replies yet so my reply will “bump” your post so others may see it.
I notice you haven’t said which type of cancer you have, so if you can share that detail then I can direct you to the appropriate cancer specific support group, where others might be able to help.
Can I just check if you mean FOLFOX chemotherapy or some other type?
Sarah xx
Losing taste is a normal thing during chemo. I found after the prescribed chemo was complete, the tastes eventually came back.
For me chocolate became bland and that was worrying because I love chocolate.
Crisps felt especially salty. Often one single crisp was like eating a tub of salt.
And spicy food really wasn't spicy. Not so bad because I could eat more.
It's all subjective though. It could be an opportunity to try new foods now. You might find foods you didn't like before aren't actually that bad.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
