Hi Everyone
I'm new to this forum and this is my 1st post .
I just had my 3rd cycle of paclitaxel and carboplatin yesterday and everything is going OK with side effects not too aggressive thank goodness. However , yesterday I was given the carboplatin before the paclitaxel instead of the other way round . I read that paclitaxel should always be given first to be most effective. Has anyone else experienced this?
Talking of side effects , my hair is falling out now so I'm off for a head shave today so I won't be able to pretend that I don't really have cancer and that this isn't all a really bad nightmare
Wishing you all the best in your battles
Oh what a miserable start for you. Well done for asking them to stop . Hopefully your bloods will be OK and Friday will be better with a slower pace. Glad to hear your husband was there to support you.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well for you on Friday
Aww thank you really appreciate it.
I have been checking my Temp and it's been fine it was in the 36.7 range this morning which is excellent.
Pray you have been ok what treatment are you on at the moment
I've now finished treatment but waiting for an MRI later this month which will show if I'm clear of cancer. It's a strange time as I feel I'm in limbo, not knowing if I've still got it. I'm remaining positive and optimistic as according to my oncologist I've had "gold standard " treatment!!
Sorry, didn't mean to hit the send button so soon. I was going to say that it's important to check your temperature once treatment starts . I checked mine every day and more often if it was borderline.
That is fantastic that your treatment has finished.
Your MRI will be all clear and it's good just keep thinking positive. You've done really well I will be praying that you are in the all clear my lovely please keep me updated about your results.
Was your treatment all In all 12 months
