I completed 6 sessions of chemotherapy in July, without any side effects and I thought that I was lucky. But now suddenly I have started feeling some of the side effects this week. It just feels wrong! Does this happen quite often?
Hi Dayasheela and I see it’s your first post so welcome. It will depend on the chemo you have had.
I have had various types of chemo for my blood cancer over my years and some side effects did kick in post the end of the treatment……. some effects are accumulative so can creep up on you and hit some time after the last treatment.
You don’t say what type of cancer you have but if you care to have a look through THIS LIST you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed.
These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from members who are navigating the same journey.
Thank you for your reply. I had not thought about the possibility of the accumulation of side effects. I looked through your list and have now joined another forum. It was NHL and I was on mini R CHOP regime.
I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Low Grade Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ may be different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.
I see you have joined our General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma but we also have these as well:
