Well, disappointing few weeks.
After the last session of chemotherapy it seems my immune system is struggling. Very disappointing as it was only the second session.
So now I’m unable to have the third session, delayed already a week and at least another week.
No idea what’s driving my system on a downward trend. I feel okay and such.
I’m now looking at some injections to help drive up my immune system. And further isolation. The weakened immune system is causing us to cancel all contact with the “outside world”.
quite upsetting. Yet another low point on a series of lows.
Sorry, but of a mini rant really. I’m informed that there isn’t anything I can do as such do just waiting to do the bloods again next week.

Hi Harlekwin sorry to hear this but rant away.
Unfortunately this is chemotherapy for you. I have a blood cancer so chemotherapy is part of life and low counts are normal and treatment delays are also normal.
The chemo is killing cancer cells but there is fallout in that good healthy cells are also killed so your bone marrow is having to go through regeneration of new cells and sometimes this takes time.
Although my counts always recovered in time for treatment to go ahead I had other delayed treatments due to having to travel South to see consultants about my next treatments but the overall results were not compromised.
Consultants tend to want to see your counts to recover without intervention but they can use GCSF infections to help if required.
I always viewed low counts as a sign that if this is what the treatment was doing to my body…… what is it doing to my cancer.
Hope your treatment keeps on track.
Hi
Harlekwin I also had trouble with white blood cells not replenishing. After my first chemo I had to see my oncologist a week later to see how things were progressing. Unfortunately a 30 minute visit turned into 8 days as I promptly passed out cold whilst sat in the chair. Woke up on the floor in recovery position. Whilst in isolation I was also put on a drip incase of dehydration and like you was given various things to get my blood count back up one of which was the daily stomach injections of GCSF which The highlander mentioned. Once home chemotherapy started again a week delayed and I was given the injections to take home they will send a district nurse to administer them but I asked to do it myself. She talked me through it and it was so easy I couldn't understand why I was dithering about it. Since then i have done my own injections (they really are a doddle to do) and thankfully my blood count has been fine ever since
Good luck and please let us know how you get on. You got this
