I am about to start 6 months of capecitabine for bowel cancer. I’ ve been prescribed metoclopramide for anti sickness. The specialist nurse said some people take it from the start whilst others take it only when they have symptoms. I was therefore given the choice. Any advice/experience would be welcome. Thank you
Hi Jdspin, I have had about 9 or 10 cycles now and found hand and foot problems getting worse each time, but now i seem to have found a magic cure. I take a bath with bath salts and essential oils every couple of days and it really seems to help. Of course, just soaking feet in it would work too, but I like a long soak in a bath. I still use the lotions ( mainly e45 as most convenient and least expensive) and they of course do help. Hope it might work for you too.
Thanks for this advice. I will try soaking my feet as suggested. Which essential oils do you find most effective please?
Not sure it would matter, but I am using sage oil at the mo, but am sure any other nice smelling ones will be a pleasure to use. My feet still look purple but no dry skin and feel much more comfortable for walking.
Thanks again. I like using lavender oil so will start with that and see how things go for me.
