Hi everyone

My husband has just been diagnosed with stage 4b DLBCL in his early 30's and has just started the intensive R-codox-M/R-IVAC treatment.

I guess I am just looking for others experinces with thsi treatment as it seems to be very intesive.

What will he be going through in the next few months? I want to be able to support him as much as possible and if I know what is potentially round the corner, I can be prepared.

He is tolerating the first 5 days well, I've just noticed he is more tired and has a sore mouth.   I can only imagine it will get much worse.

As I am unable to visit him in hospital (COVID19) it has been really hard.  Was anyone allowed home during this treatment or is he likely going to be an inpatient full time for 3-4months?

I'm also worried about fertility but focusing on getting him through this first.

Any stores/experiences would be really helpful.

Thanks,

Marbs

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that your husband has been diagnosed with DLBCL and it's natural to want to know all you can about his treatment.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the DLBCL group as you'll then be connecting with people who have this type of cancer.

If you'd like to do that then clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here. To save you typing your message out again just copy and paste it into a new post.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
