    Hi

Are you drinking the minimum of 2 litres of fluid a day to keep you well hydrated ?

Think it could be a case of the Paclitaxel lowering your white cell count making it easier for UTI's to take hold.

You could try drinking Cranberry juice or something else high in vitamin C to make your urine slightly more acidic to help ward off UTI's.

Have you anti-biotics from your GP to help fix this ?

Noticed you have asked in the breast group too, hopefully some of the ladies there who have had this can let you know what helped them.

Hope this is of some help, G n' J

  • Yes done all the above and on Last day of 2nd round of anti bots

just wondered if any one else has had the same

  • Yes. Have had to have two lots of antibiotics to clear it.

  • Good luck. I struggled to the end but once finished I’ve been fine. 2 yrs on. All the best

  • Hi I haven't had UTI's as such, keep my self well hydrated but had a very unpleasant experience the other morning. Just got out of bed and urine poured out of me with no warning. Before had the odd leak with a cough or  sneeze, but nothing like that and panty liner coped. Have now resorted to wearing a full incontinent pad as I just don't know what to expect.

BTW just had my 5th cycle of paclitaxel and carboplatin yesterday. Spoke to my chemo nurse and she told me to monitor for possible UTI but I've no pain. I've become slightly anaemic and might need  transfusion between 5 & 6.

Other than feeling rough approx. a week after the cycle I feel fine apart from peripheral neuropathy of hands and feet I'm walking dog between 3 & 5 miles a day.

    Sending hugs
