Hi guys
I am currently receiving chemotherapy for bowel cancer cells in some veins after successful surgery in July 2019. I am currently halfway through my 30 weekly doses which has been reduced twice due to side effects. I am currently on a low residue low fibre diet for constant constipation which has now eased due to the diet but I am struggling with bloatedness stomach cramps and gurgling and rumbling stomach noises. I take buscopan for the cramps and a single daily tablet of lansoprozole for the gases but unfortunately this is not working and with a loss of appetite due to the stomach issues I am losing weight every week. Any advice on the side effects would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting to the end of my tether and struggling with the side effects.
Regards Mark
Hi Mark
I'm sorry to hear about all the side effects you're struggling with. Having not had chemotherapy, I'm afraid I don't have any experience to share with you but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered.
Could I suggest that you might like to also post this in the bowel cancer group, which I can see you're a member of, as I'm sure there'll be someone there who has had the same experience as you. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.
