Immunity during chemo

Hi all

Dad just had first dose of chemo for advanced prostate cancer. I've read that your immuninty can be low during certain times but no body at the hospital mentioned it. Are there days where he should avoid large crowds and even going out :-(? Any advice much appreciated.

Yes has to have a drink and the loo if he wakes which is ok as it's in their room? :-)!

No need for sticks at the mo - he's quite fit and healthy physically - apart from the obvious!!

Thanks jcakl. Yes that's what we're trying to avoid! This is is first dose so hard to judgre! Fingers xd - he is carrying on though as if nothing is wrong!! Just hope he manages to steer clear if the bugs :-(!
