hi, I’m hoping someone will help me, I’m having chemo for breast cancer once every 12 weeks starting at the end of May. Has anyone else been through this cycle of chemo? I’m just wondering what to expect etc.
Thank you

Hi
I had this regime, I would have it on a Thursday and be zonked for the rest of the day, usually tired but okay on the Friday and reasonably back to normal by the following Tuesday- but the effects are cumulative. On a weekly basis I think most of my side effects were from the steroids and strong anti-histamines, longer term from the chemo. My hair fell out after three weeks, and my nose bled on a regular basis. My nails lifted from their nail bed and became infected which was gross, and six months after chemo finished my toenails fell off!
I also developed hard blisters all over my fingers, however I was never sick, felt it at times and taste of some things became weird.
It was very doable, not pleasant at times, and I invariably spent many hours waiting around on the chemo ward. Actually having the treatment is okay, bit of an an anticlimax really!
I normally went to the hospital the day before chemo to have my blood tests done, so it became a bit of a full time job, with various other appointments.
Good luck and please message me if you want any help, advice or even to just moan !
