Frightened to leave the house for blood test

My husband has terminal cancer and recently suffering with liver abscesses and a portal vein thrombosis; he is due to go to the GP surgery for a blood test today, but is too frightened to leave the house at the moment (having been identified as extremely vulnerable and advised to stay in the house for 12 weeks at least).  I have tried to get a district nurse to come out to him but they have failed to phone back ....

I think he should go for the blood test but he is terrified of catching the virus knowing he wouldn’t survive it, it’s weighing one risk against another, looks like I’ll be cancelling that appointment.

Just another stressful day.

  • Hi

It is so difficult to judge things at the moment, I glad to hear he made a decision though as that at least gives some kind of feeling that there is something we can control.

    stay strong

  • Good news ... I didn’t get a reply but a a lovely district nurse turned up at our door this morning, so blood test has been done thank goodness.  I really must stop worrying all the time!

    Take care
