My husband has had Prostate cancer for maybe 12 years and chose the watch and wait treatment, he had the hormone tablets the last few years and then progressed to the 3 monthly prostap injection.
In July he started to pee blood and when investigated the cancer had gone into his bladder.
Due to his age 86 years and other health issues, kidney failure and heart disease plus Altzeimers we have opted for palliative care.
I have been in phone contact with the hospice and they seem to think I'm coping and doing all the right things they have said they will come and see us at some point.
My husband is now getting pain in his shoulder which I am not sure is inactive related or the cancer. He sleeps most of the day and hardly eats. He is on oxycodiene small dose for this pain
Just so hard this watching, but he is comfortable and where he wants to be
