Hi just wondering if anyone has come across this problem and how they solved it. My mum ( 83) made me and my 2 brothers power of attorney. My mum has terminal liver cancer and is now unable to take care of her self. She's in the hospital but we're trying to move her to a care home. We need to have access to my Mum's accounts so we can make sure bills are being paid ( she still has a house) etc. The problem we're having is that the bank is insisting that we all have to come into the bank at the same time whenever we need to do anything..this is very difficult because we all live at least 5 hours away from each other ( and I live over 1000miles away in another country!). I could resign as poa but even then I don't see it working. One brother is very suspicious of the other. Things keep on getting delayed because no one can see eye to eye. I honestly don't know how we're going to make this work. We were told by one bank representative that 2 of us could sign a letter to say we give one brother permission to act on our behalf. But the suspicious brother won't sign ( but also doesn't want to do the paperwork himself).
