Oh Dear

Himself has had his regime changed from Folfox and Bev to Folfix and Pani. He us still losing weight despite eating well and more than me. He is now worried about a Pani Rash (one of the new side effects).  Looking at it I think it is just sun (being a redhead I know what it looks like).

Me Im still waiting for MRI.  Only a month but seems forever.  My CT scan on 23rd July showed 'a subjective hypodensity spot on my liver that appears to have grown,  they don't know what it is, but say it MAY be focal fat.  I am now waiting for an MRI.  Needless to say I am terrified and have convinced myself that my cancer has returned as secondary.  If only I wasn't a "glass half empty person" life would be so much more manageable.  I really envy people who are naturally "glass half full".

Life continues to be difficult.  Still at least the recent rain has filled up some of my water butt's and the grass isn't so parched looking.

  • Hi FiveO

It’s Wayne here from Macmillan’s Online Community team. I saw your post and wanted to offer some support whilst you are waiting for other group members to reply.

I’m sorry to hear that life continues to be difficult at the moment. It must be hard for both of you whilst you're waiting on your MRI. Please know that Macmillan is here to support you both every step of the way.

We have an information page on FOLFOX which you may find helpful. And we also have a helpful page on emotional support for carers.

We would always recommend discussing how you are feeling with your GP or medical team. If you need help and it’s outside of your GP’s opening hours, please call the non-emergency NHS 111 on 111 for England and Scotland. NHS Direct Wales on 0845 46 47 if you are from Wales. If you’re in Northern Ireland, you can find details of an out of hours service here.

If you would rather speak to someone directly, we have our Macmillan Support Line when you want to talk things through with someone for advice, emotional support or even just a listening ear.

Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00. If you would rather speak to them via message, you can also do so via live webchat.

We hope this helps FiveO – but please do let us know if you have any questions or need any further support.

    Best Wishes,

    Wayne
