Hello
Just need to get things off my chest .
My husband was diagnosed in June this year with throat cancer for a second time after being cancer free for 8 years, prognosis is immunotherapy treatment to prolong life for as long as possible, without treatment he will have 6 to 12 months.
I'm not his carer as such as he is still quite able to administer his meds , set his feed up in his stomach rig and is reasonably agile, I take care of the other things like talking on the phone for him as he can't talk , making appointments etc while I hold down a full time job,
But I'm feeling really sad some days as the cancer is taking the man I love away from me, I'm sad food shopping for myself as he can no longer eat so I shop for one , I'm sad eating my dinner on my own, I'm sad we can't do the things we used to do due to his energy levels, I look at him some days and feel so sorry for him that cancer is doing this and he doesn't deserve to be in this situation ,
Cancer as taken his voice , sense of smell, sense of taste , all the enjoyment of life and eventually will take his last breath, but cancer will not take away the love I feel for him now and forever.
Jenny
