Am feeling a bit guilty/selfish now.  I've started backing away a bit from all the worrying/micromanaging.  I was getting so overwhelmed.

He is now becoming more aware of requirements and hurdles to our lives.

It's a relief that he is stating to take more control.

His first thought  though, was what happens if I have my reversal and can't drive.  How will he get to his appointments.  How will he get his food orders delivered, pay the cleaner

It is weird I know he is sick but all his worries seem to be about him.  I am just a footnote its almost as though I am invisible.

  • Hi

I am glad to read about you backing away a bit from worrying/micromanagement as that is often a key step for carers when we realise that we have to take a bit of care of ourselves too and that is much more practical rather than selfish.

When I have been in hospital Janice tended to manage with public transport indeed managing something of a loop with getting our son off to college, then to me in hospital and then meeting son from college before coming home but then I guess we are reasonablly lucky to be only about 12 miles from the hospital. In the past we have sometimes managed to get a lift from a friend too.

    <<hugs>>
