Hello , I’m here as a new member. My wife has exactly a week ago been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She’s had one scan and having a second today following the diagnosis. I’m feeling weak and selfish to say I’m not coping well. I’ve never coped well in stressful situations and need to be there for her . I’ve been having really disturbed sleep and I’ve been awake since 3am with a racing mind, upset stomach and vomiting. “Fortunately” didn’t really eat yesterday so there’s nothing really inside me.
I’m hoping advice - what do i do next to get myself in a place that i can support her rather than being an additional worry?
Hi Peter
I've just joined also . My husband found out he has cancer in May but everything still feels very new and uncertain.
I can relate to the being shocked and devastated and not really knowing how to support your spouse.
My husband has always been the strong one. I'm finding it a difficult lesson to let him lead though - I've read up on stuff, as has he - but remembering that its his cancer and to be there to listen and to take note of the mountain of confusing information we get given, help him talk through things but not fuss.
Thats sort of working for us anyway
I am more than happy to talk
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
