My wife has been diagnosed with lung cancer recently, which has spread to he stomach and lymph nodes.
She has received her second dose of chemotherapy along with her first dose of immunotherapy, which will be repeated on a 3 week cycle.
After the 3rd treatment she will be receiving a CT scan to detect any progress.
The two treatments together were very hard on her and she needed total rest for about 8 days.
Is this normal?
Is there any way of us / me knowing if the treatment is working other than the scan?
A week after her first treatment her fitness, strength and breathing improved and continues to improve, all is significantly better before her treatment and diagnoses.

My wife has only had chemotherapy but some of that was hard work but perhaps the most important thing is to check any unexpected side effects with her oncology team as they will be aware of what is normal and what exceptional. With Janice they actually found a issue with her lungs at the CT scan but that was fixable and they later swapped to a different type of chemo and that ended up making her cancer stable and it has been like that for over 10 years now.
