My amazing daughter was diagnosed with TNBC in September last year. She had given birth to our second beautiful granddaughter in march of the same year. Noticed a small lump in her breast so consulted her GP. We were told it’s nothing to worry about, back and forth until this thing was 10cm and close to her chest wall. …. here we are today. She has had all her chemo & immune and mastectomy. Still needs 30 days of radiation and another six months of immune therapy. I gave up my job and went on sick of Jan this year to look after my daughter and my gorgeous granddaughters. There’s a few issues regarding my job position since a took leave but to be honest I don’t care. I am being told that my supervisor role was offered to another member of staff as soon as my sick note in.
I just want to know how I get through the after !???
I can not seem to function when i am not caring for her or my grandchildren. I come for some downtime and I just crash ! We get my girls pathology report next week. I’m already freaking out but trying to hold it together. I’ll be honest I think my heads fell off or about to. Love & peace. X
Oh bless her, this sounds like a lot for both of you. Crashing when you get some downtime is fine, do whatever your body wants you to do & if you feel up to it after crashing, do something nice & savour it, bit of cake, sit in the garden, have a bath - whatever feels like a treat to you so you get a little me time even if it’s only 20 mins. My mom was in hospital yesterday & today so because I knew she was being looked after I had a lay-in, normally I’m up & like a cat on a hot tin roof.
I’ll be thinking of you both next week & praying the pathology report brings positive news. You’ve got this & we’re all here if you need to chat. x
