My dad has stage 3 rectal cancer involving prostate and lymph nodes. He is about to start chemo,
However I am really struggling, I sometimes feel very lonely even though I live with my husband, i am getting anxious and sometimes not hungry and skipping meals.
Any ideas / suggestions greatly appreciated
Thanks
Rachel
hi Rachel26.
There was quite a good blog post around the issue of loneliness, you can see it here.
It can be worth speaking to your GP about how you are feeling as they may be able to provide some support to you, and that can help you be at your best when supporting your dad.
Something my GP talked to me about was trying to get out for a walk regularly, especially if this can be around trees. Stopping and listening to bird song etc can help calm any stress I am feeling.
<<hugs>>
Steve
