Hello everyone.
My partner is being discharged from hospital tomorrow and we will be supported at home by the local palliative care team. We are having a hospital bed delivered tomorrow and I have to organise everything. Can anyone give advice about bed linen to buy, flat sheets vs fitted, duvet vs blankets, the use of electric blankets in a hospital bed, etc? I feel a bit overwhelmed.
Thanks in advance.
Hi thete.
We had a hospital bed in the living room for my husband. We gad to rearrange and remove some furniture and I moved downstairs sleeping on the settee.
Dont worry about getting anything special, I used old single fitted sheets, then had to use bed pads as he was getting continent. Old duvet so didnt buy anything. Not sure about electric blanket if there is air mattress, but husbands didnt, he just had a normal one. I believe flat sheets are better on an air mattress. The main thing is to make him comfortable, we used a good few pillows, and tried different position up and down. He was able to adjust it himself.
I hope that helps.
