Hi,
im very new to all of this. I feel a bit premature also as we don’t know exactly what dealing with. My dad on Wednesday will have his cancer diagnosis explained, he’s 82 and we know we’re looking at bowel and kidney cancer, a CT on Friday has shown this. I’m going with both parents Wednesday for the conversation about treatment. The trouble is I’m a nurse and I know really that the option is likely palliative care. I don’t want to write him off or anything, but my knowledge is shoving the future in my face. He’s having many impacts already of his bowel cancer, much of which was kept private from me and my siblings. I totally understand why, but wish I knew as could have maybe i could have done something sooner.
anyway im early here but know I need to look after myself emotionally, mentally and physically so I can give to my mum and dad. It’s just so sad, I feel so unprepared and overwhelmed. I thought this community could help though.
