My husband has been fighting this cancer since 2022. We had a spell of 6 months when we were told he was clear but sadly 6 months later it returned . He’s done so well and responded well to chemo. Then developed sepsis 3 months ago. Followed by blocked nephrostomys then a blood clot after a skiing holiday only 7 weeks ago. This has meant delays in chemo so the cancer has spread rapidly causing severe back pain. Poor management of this caused bowel obstruction. In the last month he has declined so rapidly. He’s so thin and frail yet no one has mentioned end of life! His acute problems have been sorted and plan is to go back onto chemo. Sorry for the long story but is it possible to bounce back??? His diet is still very poor and he sleeps all day. I feel it’s too late for more chemo now

  • Hi A48 welcome to the forum though I am sorry to hear what is happening for you and your husband right now..I get the sense from your post that you are not 100% convinced by what is being suggested eg continue chemo. Is it worth asking to sit down with hubby's consultant and to ask such questions of them and for them to be honest with you both whatever the outcome is. At least then you would be clear about recovery times and also why proceed with chemo if you think things have gone beyond that? It's always worth asking for a chat with them and if that comes about for you to have a written list of questions prepared. Sorry not to have been of absolute help but also hope that my suggestions may be useful. Best wishes for now Gail
