Has anyone had to organise a PICC line flush at a UK hospital that isn’t the one your loved one attends? We are going on holiday from Scotland to the south of England in July and it has just occurred to us that my husband will have his PICC line again by the time we go. He is just about to start third line chemo and will be on folfiri with a PICC going in on 2 June.
Is it possible to make an appointment at a different hospital and if so was that arranged by your doctor or by you? I don’t know where to start! If we can’t do that we will need to cut short our holiday to come home - the two week cycle is too short!
Thanks
Hi Jd37 welcome to the forum..this is something that your Consultants could make arrangements for. They need to be asked ASAP as they may need to get approval from the bosses at both hospitals. It is possible but I would start trying to sort this out with your current hospital now. Best wishes Gail
