My husband has to see a Urologist as he had a psa score of 9 in prostrate test
I think a scan will follow.
I nursed my first husband through esophageal cancer with very little support.
I am in mental torment thinking I may have to go through this again.. I am not coping especially the waiting time and long wait to see results.
I must keep well to support my husband.
My husband is in great spirit about it all.
Any advice please.
Hi Gims
That does sound very difficult, i think just about everyone on here recognizes waiting being difficult especially when we keep hearing about seeing your doctor early.
My experience with cancer is rather different since my wife has Leiomyosarcoma but I know how often it seemed she manages things better than I was doing.
I managed to do a living with less stress course with Maggies, it helped me to concentrate on the here and now rather than worrying about a future I could not control and meant I could appreciate what we have rather than grieving over what we might have lost. The conscious breathing techniques we were taught were great for when life decides to throw another curve ball but also in helping me relax and get some sleep.
One of the important elements I had to learn was to care for me and accept the help I needed. One thing that I tried was going for a walk in the part among the trees and listing to the birds singing.
<<hugs>>
Steve
