It's probably been a year since I posted on here but this January my brother was given the news his bowel cancer has now spread to his liver and lung. Treatment will prolong his life not cure.
A year ago my sister was given the same prognosis her bowel cancer had spread and was now incurable.
They have both been so incredibly brave facing very devastating news. I know this year is going to be incredibly hard but we try to carry on as normal as possible. Both my brother and sister are well at the moment and we still get together and do the things we enjoy but this shadow is constantly following us.
G99, so sorry to hear this - incredibly hard for you. I'm sure you experience so many emotions, from heartbreak at what's happening to your siblings to guilt and fear for the future, for them and for yourself. I know I would, in your position.
I'm glad you are still able to enjoy good times together. I'm sure that's what your brother and sister want, to live their lives as normally as possible for as long as they can. You can only be guided by them, listen and talk when they want to, and support them when needed.
I hope you have friends or other family that you can talk to - you need that to give you the strength you'll need to be there for your siblings. Also hope you are looking after your own health?
Sending love, strength and the biggest hug. ((( )))
