Hi my Dad has had chemo and radio therapy for colon cancer. He has his follow up appointment on Friday. Does anyone know what happens at this appointment? Will they orginaise more scans to check if the cancer has responded to the treatment? Or will they do it there and then?
any advice please?
Hi win1974
My wife's cancer is very different but her follow up appointments generally involved a blood test or two and general questions about how she was feeling and a physical exam. Sometimes she would be sent for an x-ray and that would usually be done the same day. CT scans or even PET-CT were sometimes arranged but usually ready for the next appointment.
There may be useful information in our pages on after treatment here.
