I am breaking, I am frightened and I’m scared.
this is the worst thing I have ever been through.
my partner has oesophageal cancer. Stage 4, 2 stents and he isn’t even 40 yet.
im scared of appointments, seeing him unwell, results, chemo, everything.
I cant belive how much cancer has changed my family’s life. We have a daughter who is 5 and this is just not what we had in mind for our future. How do you accept it and cope because I am really struggling right now. ️
Hi BelleT
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it as useful as I do.
It seems you are very normal and human, I think just about everyone on here will recognize what you say. One thing I found helpful was some of the advice in your feelings when someone has cancer as recognizing the emotions and accepting them as normal can help to make them a little bit less overwhelming.
With your daughter you may find some of the information in Talking to children and teenagers quite helpful. With our son we were also lucky to get some great support from his school and that was helpful to make sure he got the same answers there as at home.
I ended up doing a living with less stress course that really helped me. Remember too if it helps you are more than welcome to ring the helpline here.
<<hugs>>
Steve
