So this is my first post and the reason for me being here.
My wife has been told she has a primary cancer in her ovaries with secondary in her liver.
When we met with a Consultant last week the only bit that I really remember is that she said it wasn't curable.
She has been transfered to another specialist who we are due to see tomorrow and she starts chemo this week as well.
Initially she is having a course every 3 weeks for 9 weeks at which point they will review the spread.
I am so scared for her. She has spent 37 years Nursing others and within weeks has gone from doing her job, managing others
and caring for the elderly too being confused, weak and sleeping most the time.
It breaking my heart.
We have been together for 27 years and only been apart for a total of 15 nights since the day we met.
Now I'm scared to even leave her with someone else while I take 10 mins to got to a shop.
I think I may well be asking lots of questions here over the coming months.
Thank you in advance
  • So sorry to hear your news. It’s normal to feel scared, it’s not something we could ever prepare for. The treatment isn’t kind to the recipient, and you will need support, emotionally and possibly physically. Could I suggest you phone MacMillan on 08082395065 there will be someone there to help, guide you through this extremely difficult time. I never thought I would manage, everyone told me how well I was doing, but when you’re caring for someone you love deeply, it’s not a chore. I do wish you and your Wife the very best, please feel free to come on here as often as you need, and ask anything. I’ve sent a friend request, so if if it’s easier sometimes to ask one to one, then please send me a PM.
