  • It’s the worse news possible, there are no words to describe the emotions from such news. There are various ways to help your Wife through this and the treatment, also various medications that can help. There are special drinks available, which are easier to take and digest than food, Maybe give the MacMillan nurses a call, and see what support they can offer.08082583297  also have a look at https://www.macmillan.org.uk/diagnosed-with-cancer.html which offers email support. And https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/treatment which gives advice on treatment.

  • Hi

Sorry to hear about your wife; the issue with food is very common and can become very tense between the carer and the patient. We have not had experience with radio therapy so I cannot really comment on that.

One of the things that really helped me was a living with less stress course. It helped me focus on the here and now rather than painting myself a black future that was totally out of my control.

We do have quite a lot of information on here that help to support us Supporting a family member with cancer - because the effects on the carer are significant and we need the right help in order to be the best carer for our loved ones.
