sorry to hear about your son, I know when my wife was going through chemotherapy she was quite often sick and of course that can reduce any desire to eat. Do contact the hospital team to discuss this as it is important he is strong enough for the chemotherapy.
The good news is that the side effects of the chemotherapy do normally clear quite quickly after treatment.
