Reaching out to share experiences with patients/families who are undergoing Targeted Treatment Larotractinib aka Vitrakvi. Side effects and hopefully benefits etc.
Good Morning Jake (JakeinYorkshire)
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the online Community (and over the border in Lancashire ).
From my understanding Vitrakvi is used to treat many different cancers. As the Community is divided up into many cancer specific groups, if you let me know the type of cancer you are dealing with I can direct you to that group where you may also find answers. I notice you also said:
patients/families
Are you a carer or is it children you are talking about? Let me know, and I will try and help you.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Brian
I am a husband so doing the caring. We have no children but we have close and supportive relatives and excellent Medical care from the Jimmys and Pain advice from St Gemmas Hospice in Leeds.
its a lung cancer diagnosis which spread to the bone causing bone weakness and a really traumatic femur break which my wife is recovering from and building up her mobility.
We are in West Yorkshire and the only current family with a patient receiving Vitrakvi according to the senior oncologist at the Bexley (Leeds Cancer institute).
I was reaching out to share insights/experience about the drug as we are just 1 month into treatment.
Hope this helps us find a few more families. I’ve communicated with PearlJamfanNo1 who’s son is on the drug in Ireland.
many thanks
Jake
Hello Jake (JakeinYorkshire )
Thank you for the update - I see you have found the only mention of the medication on the Community (I did a search myself!).
If it's being used for Lung Cancer - it's a long shot - but you could post in the Lung Group and hope that someone in that group is on that medication but hasn't posted anything. Here's the link you need:
Join the group and put a message up in the "New Here - Say Hello" section.
I wish you well in your quest and also with your wife's recovery.
Best wishes - Brian.
