TNBC, no chemotherapy..

My sister is 29 and has the BRCA1 gene. She has just been diagnosed with stage 1 grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. My mum has had stage 3 grade 3 triple negative twice (and is still here) so I know how brutal this cancer type is!

Due to previous health issues, her doctors do not believe she is strong enough for chemotherapy. They are recommended a bilateral mastectomy and node removal and then, essentially, seeing what happens after that. They have spoken about targeted therapies but want to do this a step at a time.

I would love to know if anyone has, or knows anyone who has, been treated successfully for this type of cancer without chemotherapy.

  • Hello

I am Brian one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer.

We do have a group you might like to join where you may find other Community Members in the same or similar situation and here's the link you need:

If you join this group and repost your question I hope you will get some answers.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes - Brian.
