Hi
Some time ago i did put on this site my own experience !! Cant seem to find my way round this new format ?? Anyway i can just say thet i had news from a surgen 14 months ago , that in my case the operation was not on !! he said that i wouls only have months to live if i didnt have any treatment !! so i did !! Chemo & radio !! 4 months ago i had a further scan , and my consultant told me that he could not find any sign of my cancer at all ?? This i must say was a supprise ! although i must say i have had no symptems at all since my second dose of chemo !! Only the effects of the chemo treatment !!
I asked about an operation , but doc said there was nothing to operate on ?? I have to see him agin tomorrow as a followup , so just hope all is still as he said . I feel a bit confused , after being told i had inoperable cancer , and then 14 months later , no sign of it at all ??? Just doesnt seem possible to me , and many others !! Anyway heres hoping he wasnt joking !!
Mike
This is such good news for you, however I can understand your confusion, it must feel like you have won the lottery twice in one week! If what you have been told is true and I do not doubt it, then I am really pleased for you, which in turn must give hope to many others. There can be no other explanation for your good fortune apart from the modern miracle of chemo medicine, or that the diagnosis was wrong in the place. I hope that from now on you would be monitored on a regular basis for your own peace of mind and to catch any reoccurrence early.
Now go and enjoy your life’s good fortune,
Steve
Hi
I was on the ECX regime , had 7 sessions over approx 6 months , then 5 weeks of every day radio treatment !! Last Friday i paid my latest visit to my consultant !! and he did say, that my response to the treatment was extreamly good , and i was one in a thousand with such results !! He also did make it clear that this was not a cure ?? but at this moment in time , thete was no sign of the cancer on the scans !! He just wished me luck that it continues that way , and he will re scan me at the end of Jan next year . All please dont give up , , just take what treatment is on offer , it does work !!!!
Cheers
Mike
Well done Mike, enjoy every day of your life! Fab news!
Karen
