Hi I am due to meet my oncology team on Wednesday 13th May and I'm very positive since I was diagnosed end of March that I've got Endometrial cancer but my CT/MRI scan showed a tumour of 6.5cm so I had a biopsy and fortunately it hasn't spread. I have started my own cancer journal and because I got a DVT clot beg of March they will not give me a hysterectomy until my clot has cleared and once this pandemic is over and once my tumour has shrunk they won't risk an operation. So I just want to know what to expect with chemo. I was sent a Macmillan book on Chemotherapy which is very informative and plain English. I have my questions ready so I really don't know what else to do to help myself. The Macmillan nurses at Royal Derby have been tremendously helpful and I can't talk highly enough of them. Thank you
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with endometrial cancer and that you're having to wait until after a clot has cleared before you'll be able to have surgery.
The online community is divided up into cancer specific groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. Could I suggest that you join the womb cancer group as you can then ask the other members of the group about their chemotherapy experiences.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
