Apprehensive and anxious

Hi, everyone, I am seeing the surgeon tomorrow to discuss a partial right lobectomy. I am quite anxious because after my biopsy results came back the consultant ordered a liver MRI, as they saw what looks like a cyst on my liver. Concerned that this may be something concerning and may impact on my preference for surgery. I will be so relieved to know exactly what I am facing. Probably in for yet another sleepless night.

  • Hi

I am sorry you have had to undergo a liver MRI to find out more about what has been seen in your liver. I don’t have the same cancer but I did have metastasis to my liver and have had multiple liver MRIs over the years. I know they are not a pleasant experience and that waiting for results is awful. I notice your post is from a couple of days ago and that you mentioned upcoming appointment. I hope you have more clarity on the plan. If you would like to post a little more about what you now know, hopefully someone with the same cancer will come along and respond.

  • Hi Codfish. Apparently it it's a cyst but they will monitor it in a couple of months. So relieved as it means my lobectomy can go ahead in 4 weeks time. I met the Surgeon yesterday, she was excellent and I feel much less anxious, knowing what happens next. Thank you for responding.

    Take care

  • That’s excellent news. I hadn’t wanted to give you false hope before, but what they call it before further investigation tends to be pretty accurate. Sadly they were pretty clear mine was a secondary cancer deposit, and it was. I hope the surgery goes well.
