Hi Grady01 and welcome to the forum
I see you’ve already made a post in our bowel cancer group, so this is more likely to get some relevant responses from others who have been through the same surgery.
My surgery was different in that I lost my rectum, so I’ve not had anything similar symptom wise. However, I was a bit surprised to see your gp has only recommended pelvic floor exercises. Usually these are recommended after surgery to help strengthen everything rather than 8 years post op.
Is there another gp you could see for a second opinion at your surgery? You have a new symptom and it would be best to get this investigated. I’m presuming after so long that you’ve been discharged by your colorectal team from further regular check ups? I think in your position I’d want some further investigation if the symptom is persisting, and a referral to see a colorectal specialist.
