I have a question - I’m eight post radical cystectomy and am struggling with constipation I’m ok if I take laxatives but don’t want to become dependent on these.  Also post surgery I had a problem with my right leg that I could not move it back towards centre, the opinion of the doctors was that this was nerve damage from the removal of lymph nodes and no one can give me any idea if this will improve or that’s it.  Obviously as it’s my right leg I can’t drive as I can’t hit the brake and am struggling to get up and down from the floor.

i am so frustrated and am wondering if anyone else had the same problems and can tell me it will get better.

other than those two “symptoms” I’m doing fine walking every day.

  • Hi

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I haven't had the same treatments as you I noticed your post.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also post this in the bladder cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect directly with people who've had the same type of cancer and treatment as you.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
