Hi everyone. My Dad has been diagnosed with suspected lung cancer. They are removing part of his lung in a few weeks and some nodes to check. Has anyone here experienced this surgery or had a loved one go through it. We've been told the basics on what to expect but I have no idea what the likely outcome will be. Is there a chance dad will be cancer free after?

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and although I've had different cancer diagnoses to your dad I can understand you wanting to find out as much as possible about his upcoming surgery.
As you know, the online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you also join and post your question in the lung cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have had the same type of surgery as your dad is going to have.

It would be great if you could put something about your dad's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway.
