Hi all, & thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
This week I have been advised that I need to have a right breast mastectomy for DCIS. I wasn’t expecting this as I’ve had two previous surgeries in Jan & March to remove the ducts. I won’t need to have any Chemo/radiotherapy & wanted other people’s experiences on reconstruction; Did you have reconstruction at the same time as mastectomy, if so how was that & what type did you have? Any further surgery after initial reconstruction? Did you wait & live with your new shape before reconstruction & how did that go?
I am meeting with the Oncoplastic surgeon on Tuesday & I have questions for them, but some lived experience would be so helpful.
Thank you so much.
