Having said all this I feel positive about surviving etc ...my animals are my worry that family can't give them the care I do .
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting for surgery and know what a worrying time this is. Trying to cope with only 4 hours sleep a night is not the ideal preparation for having surgery. Have you spoken to your GP to see if they are able to help with this? You might also find this information from Maggie's about managing stress helpful.
Could I also point you in the direction of the very friendly breast cancer group where you'll find plenty of others who are going through the same experiences as you. The group also has a monthly thread on chemotherapy and one on radiotherapy which you might like to take a look at.
To join the group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi, I too am about to have a Mastectomy on Tuesday to remove my right breast and lymph nodes under my arm. I am feeling rather nervous as I have been unsure whether to have a Lumpectomy or to go ahead with the Mastectomy.(Tests have shown that the cancer has not spread). Looking at images of a Mastectomy has not done anything to stop my anxiety. I am also feeling anxious about the removal of the lymph nodes, as reading the literature, this in itself can create many unpleasant side effects.
My surgeon does not use a drainage bag therefore leaving excess fluids to drain away naturally. I do not know whether the use of a drainage bag will create less problems after surgery.
Hi Emmar4553
I just wanted to wish you all the best for your operation on Tuesday.
Unfortunately i can't answer your question. I would just suggest you talk to your surgeon on Tuesday.
Although others whom have already had their ops make be able to help you.
Once again good luck x
Im having a lumpectomy only ...so sorry to read Ur going thru this too
Its frightening you feel for people when you hear they going through this.
Although when it actual happens you its a big shock and all kinds of emotions as you know.
I'm sorry to hear you having to have an op too. Its a great help to talk to people whom have gone through it or yet to have something done.
I pray all goes well for you. Good look with the Surgery.
Hugs and best wishes
